First aid

Knowledge and skills that are used in emergency situations must be thoroughly aquired and regularly repeated. The most important skill to learn is cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (Helsenorge). If there is a defibrillator at you place of study or work, you should learn how to use it.

Check if there is a first aid course you can attend. Use the links below to learn more first aid skills.

Check if there are any risks at your place of study or work  that require special first aid training, such as risks related to electric currents, gas or chemicals.

First aid equipment

Familiarise yourself with

  • where first aid equipment and defibrillators are located
  • where you can find first aid resources and skills at your place of study or work
  • what first aid equipment and medicines are necessary for different activities, such as travelling abroad, fieldwork, research cruises or excursions
